Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico with a family that was devoted to music. She was raised listening to traditional, old boleros and the traditional songs of romantics and ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos and opera and dramatic performances. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started more intense training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra at 16 when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical training at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was a member of many opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. Following her move in America, United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she relocated to Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo in the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. As a teacher and musician Ana is a dedicated participant in many projects in the community due to her enthusiasm and love for music. Ana was a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to preserve the traditions.
